Horse Blackout Portrait

Post-processing is always overlooked in photography. Even with presets or actions you still have to understand when, where and how to apply them. A good photographer can really enhance an image in post-processing. The photography aspect is much less time consuming than processing image.

These blackout portraits are very popular in the horse world. They are actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part is to get the horse in the correct place and looking decent. Otherwise, nothing fancy was done. This little series was done in 30 seconds. What makes them dramatic is how they are shot and post-processing clean-up. Here are the before and after of this image.
